Two Arrested During Break-in Attempt in the Tucker’s Chapel Community

Blevins againA resident of the Tucker’s Chapel community made a 9-1-1 call Wednesday, which resulted in the arrest of two men that had broken into his home.

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, the homeowner’s security system indicated an intruder in his home on County Road 47 and deputies and investigators quickly arrived on the scene to encounter the suspects.

Following a brief foot chase the two were taken into custody.

William Darrin Blevins, age 50 of Ft Payne, was charged with third degree burglary, theft of property first degree resisting arrest and attempting to elude.

Christopher Daniel Jones, age 26 of Fyffe – was charged with third degree burglary and theft of property first degree, with attempting to elude, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, the unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and promoting prison contraband third degree.

Both were booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center shortly before 2:00pm.

All the property the pair had attempted to steal was recovered, and returned to the rightful owner.
