Two Men Arrested in Connection with Shooting of Oxford Residents

Witt and FROA shooting incident in Jacksonville, North Carolina, on Tuesday of this week, left one Oxford resident dead and another injured.

According to police reports that incident took place shortly before midnight at the Baymont Inn.

Officers arrived on the scene to find 19 year old Jacob Moore, and 31 year old Amanda Price suffering gunshot wounds. Price was taken to Onslow Memorial Hospital where she died as a result of her wounds; Moore was air-lifted to Vidant Medical Center, located in Greenville, where he was treated.

Two people were taken into custody at the scene. 27 year old Justin Witt, has been charged with murder, assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and motor vehicle larceny; meanwhile, 29 year old Niklaus Froelich was charged with being an accessory after the fact; he was also charged with being possession of heroin.

Police say all four of those involved knew each other and that Witt and Froelich had gone to the hotel room of Moore and Price, where the shooting took place.

Witt and Froelich fled the scene afterwards, and they were picked up by Jacksonville Police, a short time later.

The matter remains under investigation.
