Two Arrested on Burglary Charges Sunday at Centre Motel

CCSO - CraigTwo individuals were taken into custody on Sunday afternoon at the Centre Motel, in connection with a burglary occurring overnight Saturday at the Cedar Bluff First Baptist Church.

According to the Cedar Bluff Police incident report Nathan Joshua Craig of Chatsworth, Georgia and Alicia May Tidwell of Cedar Bluff stole a total of 13 checks from the benevolent fund, along with $400 in cash.

The pair told the arresting officers they took the money, simply because they were hungry.  Each was charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center – additional charges could be forthcoming.

CCSO - TidwellThe case was brought to a speedy conclusion – with assistance coming from employees at a local grocery store who contacted authorities after Craig and Tidwell had attempted to cash two large checks.

Cedar Bluff Police were assisted by members of the Centre Police Department in making those arrests.
