Cherokee County authorities arrested two individuals on drug charges Wednesday.
According to information on the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office website, 18 year old Cody Shayne Thompson of Leesburg was charged with the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a Probation Violation – and 29 year old Trion, Georgia resident Katie Marie Burtz-Conner – was arrested and charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, as well as the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Thompson was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center shortly before 1:00pm – and Burtz-Conner was booked in just before 3:00pm.
Both remain in the detention center awaiting setting of bond.
