Two Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges in Floyd County

Rome-Floyd Metro police executed a search warrant at an apartment located on Redmond Circle Wednesday and arrested two people on drug and weapons charges.  According to jail records – more than an ounce of methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana, numerous scales, and glass smoking devices along with two handguns were found in the apartment.

31 year old Avery Lea Holcombe and 37 year old Scotty Joel Venable are both charged with drug trafficking, possession of meth, and possession of meth with the intent to distribute, along with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug-related objects, and the possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Venable was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon – and, a probation violation.
