Two Brothers Charged with Murder of Missing Jacksonville Woman

Two brothers are now behind bars, charged with the murder, dismemberment and burning of their victim’s remains. Timothy Mark Putman, age 33 and Tony Lee Putman, age 39, have each been arrested on a Murder Warrant in connection with the death of 26 year old Kelsey Abigail Williams of Jacksonville.

During the early morning hours of June 2nd, the Glencoe Fire Department responded to the report of a fire at a mobile home behind the old RJ’s gas station on Highway 431 close to the Calhoun/Etowah County line.

Remains later identified through dental records as belonging to Williams, were found at the scene.  Her missing van was discovered a week later around a half mile from where the two brothers had been staying.  Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade stated someone clearing brush on the land had found the burned van and reported it. 

Inside, investigators found more of Williams’ remains and other evidence.

Williams had reportedly been in a relationship with Timothy Putman.  Sheriff Wade has not disclosed the circumstances leading to her death.

Both Timothy and Tony Putman were arrested Monday are currently lodged in the Calhoun County Jail with bond set at $500,000 each.
