Two-Car Collision Leaves One Vehicle Upside Down in Front of Union State Bank on Cedar Bluff Road in Centre / UPDATED

One person was injured in a two-car crash that left one of the vehicles upside down in front of the Union State Bank in Centre on Monday morning.

That collision took place at the red light in front of the bank on the Cedar Bluff Road shortly after 9:00am leaving a Kia Rio on its top in the middle of the roadway. The driver of the Kia, 44 year old Margaret Lorene King of Gaylesville was taken by ambulance to be checked out.

After being treated and released from the hospital she was placed under arrest and charged with DUI/any substance and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center – where she was booked in at 11:29am with bond being set at $500.

Meanwhile the driver of the Pontiac Grand Prix, 55 year old Ronald James Bowers of Centre fortunately managed to escape injury.

Those responding to the scene included – the Centre Police and Fire Departments Cherokee EMS and the Cherokee County Rescue Squad.
