Two Caught During Burglary Friday Morning on County Road 99

It only took minutes to solve a burglary that had taken place early on Friday morning in the Broomtown community, thanks to the quick action of an alert citizen.  The person spotted a suspicious vehicle pulled into the driveway of a home on County Road 99 and reported it to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy John Sentell and Investigator Tony Monroy, who were both in the area – responded to the location and saw the vehicle.  The vehicle was unoccupied and they noticed the home had been burglarized.  The two occupants were quickly rounded up and taken into custody, after stolen property was found inside the vehicle.

Sonya Leigh Price, age 36 of Ft Payne and Saundra Marie Goodwin, age 61 from Gaylesville, were both transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center on the charges of Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft of Property 4th Degree.

They were both booked into jail just after 8:00am with bond being set at $5,500 each.
