Two Charged with Burning “Silver Creek Mansion” in Floyd County

Two men have been charged with arson in connection with what was commonly known as the Silver Creek Mansion in Floyd County, Georgia.

Stanley Edward Stephens, age 68 and Donald Eric Luallen, 59, both from Polk County, have been arrested and charged with burning the 5,900 square foot home on Craton Road on the 10th of February. Police say more than a dozen investigators worked on the case – and they determined that an accelerant had been used in the arson which resulted in the home being completely destroyed.

Reports indicated that Stephens was actually the former resident of the house with the pair being accused of setting the structure on fire to collect insurance money – after Luallen was foreclosed on by Regions Bank.

No additional information is being released at this point in time as this remains an on-going investigation.
