Two Charged with Drug Trafficking Following DeKalb County Traffic Stop

Last Friday, a large amount of methamphetamine was seized by DeKalb County deputies as the result of a traffic stop on Highway 68 between Crossville and the Dawson Community.

A deputy was patrolling on Highway 68 around 2:00am – when he noticed a vehicle driving erratically.

The deputy pulled the driver over and during a search of the vehicle, located more than 200 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  Both occupants were then arrested and transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center without further incident.

The driver, William Dowdy Jr. – age 56 of Albertville – was charged with Trafficking in Any Illegal Drug, Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and the Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The passenger, Travis Huff, age 39 of Arab, was charged with Trafficking in Any Illegal Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
