Two Charged with Rape of Underage Girl

Investigation 2Marshall County District Attorney Steven Marshall has announced two Grand Jury Indictments, in regard to the rape and sodomy of an underage girl back in May.

According to the website al.com, the prosecutor in the case told District Attorney Marshall that the two men have been charged in relation to an incident in which they contacted the teenager on -line and arranged to meet up with her near her home.

She was taken by the pair from Guntersville to a location near the Marshall/DeKalb County line and then back toward Guntersville – before being left in a ditch along the way.

Stephen Baratz, has been charged with First and Second Degree Rape – and with Second Degree Sodomy; the second individual is under the age of 18 and Marshall chose not to release his name until the case has been officially entered into state records.

Marshall said, given the nature of the crime, he expects the individual to be charged as an adult.

Both men are currently out on bail.
