There were two separate two-vehicle accidents taking place within just moments of each other on the Chesnut Bypass in Centre Thursday afternoon.

According to Centre Police Department accident reports, the first mishap took place at 3:46pm in front of Howard’s Jewelry – and involved a 2007 Dodge Nitro driven by 60 year old Diana Perry of Centre and a 2008 Chevy Equinox driven by 32 year old Tabitha Tidmore of Collinsville.

Both Perry and Tidmore were transported to Cherokee Medical Center by ambulance – however, no additional information was immediately available.

The second accident – taking place at 3:52pm – was at the east end of the bypass, at the Highway 411 intersection. That wreck involved a 1996 Nissan Maxima driven by 40 year old Scotty Floyd and a 2007 Chevy Silverado being driven by 37 year old Kara Coker of Gadsden.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in that wreck.

Both accidents remain under investigation.
