A Floyd County judge recently sentenced two DeKalb County, Alabama men to prison terms for traveling to meet up with a person they thought was a 14 year old – for sex.
Joshua Loyd Green pled guilty to charges of felony Child Exploitation and Obscene Internet Contact with a Child, and was sentenced to five years in prison and an additional five years on probation. He was arrested in March of 2019 at a location he had set up – believing that he was meeting with an underage girl, and he was accused of making plans to engage in sex at his home in Alabama. The “child” turned out to be an investigator with the Floyd County Police Department.
Floyd County Superior Court Judge Billy Sparks also sentenced Philip Traylor, 62, to a term of 10 years with three to serve.
Along with those sentences Green and Traylor, both from Ft Payne – will have to register as sex offenders upon their release.
