Two Etowah County residents were taken into custody and placed under arrest Wednesday on controlled substance charges in Cherokee County.
Kenneth Shawn Whitmore, age 26 and Madalynn Jayne Harper, age 25 – both from Gadsden – were each charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
They were booked in at the Cherokee County Detention Center around 8:30 that night, with bond set at $3,000 each; both were released after making bond shortly after 10:30pm.
