Two Gadsden Residents are Arrested on Drug Charges

Two Etowah County residents have been arrested, in connection with what is being termed a “drug operation” allegedly being conducted at a Gadsden residence on North 15th Street.

Drug Enforcement Unit Commander Randall Johnson says that Jeffery Smith, age 30, and 58 year old Geraldine Westfield were both arrested, following execution of a search warrant at the home.

Smith was reportedly charged with two counts of Distribution of Crack Cocaine and a single count of Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree; Westfield was also charged with Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree.

Agents also recovered several bags of marijuana and an undisclosed amount of money from the scene.

Smith and Westfield were booked into the Etowah County Detention Center, and have since been released on bond; the investigation was conducted by the Gadsden Police Department in conjunction with the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
