Two Gadsden Residents Jailed On Numerous Drug Related Charges

Two individuals have been charged with drug related charges in Etowah County.

According to Commander Randall Johnson, 61 year old Geraldine Westfield of Gadsden was arrested for two counts of Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 1st degree, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

37 year old Destiny Shantel Alston also from Gadsden was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree, Unlawful Possession of Certain Chemical Compounds, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On November 25, Agents executed a search warrant at a residence on S 10th St in Gadsden. The search warrant was based on a criminal investigation involving drug sales from the residence. During the search Agents found a quantity of crack cocaine, a quantity of synthetic marijuana, alprazolam, digital scales, and paraphernalia used to smoke crack cocaine.

Westfield was arrested and released from the Etowah County Detention Center on a $15,000 bond. Alston was arrested and released from the Etowah County Detention Center on a $4,500 bond. Alston had outstanding warrants through Gadsden Police Department at the time of her arrest. This investigation is still ongoing and the suspect could face additional charges related to the drugs seized.
