Two Hurt in County Road 71 Accident

Two Piedmont residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident – taking place on Thursday afternoon in Cherokee County; according to the Alabama State Trooper accident report the wreck occurred on County Road 71 shortly after 4:00pm involving a 1998 Toyota driven by James Thompson of Leesburg and a 1998 Ford driven by 41 year old Michael McGatha.

Thompson escaped injury – however both McGatha and a passenger in his vehicle – 40 year old Linda McGatha – were listed on that report as being hurt. Both were taken to Cherokee Medical Center for treatment.

No additional information regarding the extent of their injuries was noted in the report.
