Two Hurt in Highway 278 Collision Sunday Morning

Two people were hurt in Cherokee County on Sunday morning – during a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.  That accident took place at approximately 10:20 on Highway 278 – involving a 2016 Honda and a 2014 Harley-Davidson.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency report, both the driver of the Honda, a female resident of Piedmont and the driver of the Harley, a male from Jacksonville, Florida, had to be treated for injuries sustained in the mishap.

No additional information was available regarding the condition of either party, however at least one person was air-lifted from a landing zone which had been set up at the ball field at Spring Garden School.

The Spring Garden Fire Department along with other emergency personnel responded.

That wreck remains under investigation by State Troopers.
