Two Hurt in Three Vehicle Accident in Front of Centre Walmart Wednesday Afternoon / UPDATED

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle accident taking place Wednesday, on West Main Street in front of the Centre Walmart.

According to the Centre Police Department accident report the crash, which was at 4:55pm, involved a 2012 Ford Fusion, driven by a 27 year old resident of Leesburg, Mitchell Slayton; a 2009 Nissan Murano, being driven by 28 year old Jamie Rothell of a Roanoke address; and a 1997 Ford Mustang driven by 54 year old Emma Arthur of Centre.

Rothell was transported by Cherokee EMS to Floyd Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the wreck – meanwhile a passenger in the Slayton vehicle, Morgan Ball, age 27, was taken to Gadsden Regional by EMS ground for treatment.  Neither Slayton, Arthur nor a passenger that was in Arthur’s vehicle apparently required any medical attention.

Centre Police and Firefighters, Cherokee EMS and Rescue Squad personnel all responded to the scene.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
