Two in Custody, One Sought in Connection with Gadsden Theft

Two men from Cedartown, Georgia are currently in custody, and another is being sought, in connection with the recent theft of items from a residence in Gadsden.

According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, 29 year old William Wayne Welchel has been arrested and charged with one count of Theft of Property 1st Degree.  He is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a bond of $5,000 bond and he’s also currently on probation through the state of Georgia. Charles Timothy Myers, age 46, has also been arrested, and charged with one count of Theft of Property 1st Degree.  He is being held in Cedartown on other charges.  The third suspect, 26 year old Christopher Todd Myers – who is the son of Charles Myers, is still being sought in this case.

Sheriff Entrekin said the three men stole a four-wheeler and a wood-splitter from the home of an acquaintance on Mary Louise Road, then carried that stolen property to a residence in Georgia.  Both items have since been recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
