Two Men Captured in Cherokee County After High Speed Chase Last October Now Back in Georgia to Face Charges

Two men involved in a police chase that began in Rome and ended here in Cherokee County (Alabama) back in October are now back in Floyd County to face numerous charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 39 year old John Thomas Duvall Jr., and 45 year old Bradley Keith Land – both of Rome – tossed a 9mm handgun and methamphetamine out of the vehicle during the attempted traffic stop on Drummond Drive.  Charges against the two include abandonment of dangerous drugs, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute – among others.

Duvall and Land had been held in the Cherokee County Detention Center since being caught in the Newberry’s Crossroads community – after their car struck the rear end of a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office vehicle.
