UPDATE|Two People Injured After Vehicle Strikes Power Pole On County Road 63

Two people were injured after flipping their 1994 Mazda pickup truck and snapping a power pole in half on County Road 63 late Wednesday afternoon.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports the accident occurred at 5:40pm, the driver of the vehicle identified as 21 year old Timothy Bias was treated at the scene by paramedics while passengers identified as 16 year old Bailey Hunter and 14 year old Madison Hunter were transported to Cherokee Medical Center by Cherokee EMS.

According to State Troopers all three were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Power in the area was out for an extended period as a result of the accident – Cherokee Electric Crews had to remove the broken pole and set a new one in order to restore electric service.

Cedar Bluff Fire Fighters, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Officers also responded to the scene.

The exact cause of the accident is under investigation by ALEA and we’ll have more as their reports are available.
