Three Hurt in Four Vehicle Accident in Front of the Centre Walmart Tuesday Afternoon / UPDATED

A total of three individuals were taken for the treatment of injuries sustained in an accident that involved four vehicles in front of the Centre Walmart on Tuesday afternoon.

Those included a 2002 Chevy S-10 being driven by 78 year old Jacqueline Wolfe of Centre, a Ford E-250 driven by Richard Temple of Lindale, Georgia, a 2003 Dodge Stratus driven by a 52 year old resident of Centre, Jeffery Hammond and a 2014 Chevy Tahoe Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Unit, driven by 38 year old Officer Nick Vaughn of Centre.  Vaughn, who was in the process of leaving the parking lot in his patrol vehicle was hit head-on by one of the other vehicles following the impact between it and another car.

Wolfe was taken by Cherokee EMS to Gadsden Regional – while EMS units transported both Hammond and a passenger in his vehicle, Teri Loudermilk to Floyd Medical Center in Rome for treatment of their injuries.

According to the Centre Police Department accident report the wreck occurred at 12:55pm.

Also responding to the scene were units with the Centre Fire Department, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Cherokee EMS.
