Two Separate Two Vehicle Accidents Block Traffic In Cedar Bluff

Emergency crews in Cedar Bluff responded to the scene of two, two vehicle accidents within just minutes of each other on Monday afternoon. The first occurred at the red light at the intersection of Old Highway 9 and Alabama Highway 68 East involving a pickup truck pulling a trailer and an 18 wheeler. A passenger in the pickup was taken by Cherokee EMS to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries.

Highway 68 East was shutdown at the intersection as crews worked to clear the wreckage and remove the vehicle and trailer from the roadway. As police and firefighters were attending to that accident a call went out a short time later of a two vehicle accident taking place on top of the Cedar Bluff bridge which blocked both lanes of traffic for a short period of time.

It appears that a passenger car rear-ended a Chevy pickup. The Cedar Bluff Police and Fire Departments, Cherokee EMS and Alabama State Troopers along with personnel from the Gaylesville Fire Department responded to the scene of both accidents.

We’ll have details as soon as the Cedar Bluff Police Department accident reports are available.
