A two-vehicle accident on Highway 9 north of Centre Tuesday afternoon left one vehicle on its top; fortunately however, no one was hurt in the mishap.
According to the Centre Police Department accident report that wreck involved a 2008 Hyundai Veracruz, driven by 45 year old Rebecca Watson of Leesburg, and a 2011 Chevy Aveo driven by 25 year old Ashley Boyd of Trion, Georgia.
That accident took place just after 3:30pm and as a result northbound traffic was backed up for almost a mile; meanwhile southbound traffic was detoured onto County Road 69 as crews worked to remove the vehicles from the scene.
While en route to the accident scene a hose on a Centre Fire Truck unrolled, causing damage to a total of nine vehicles along Highway 9 – fortunately, no one was hurt in that mishap either.
