Emergency crews responded to the scene of a two vehicle crash occurring on Highway 9 South near the intersection of County Road 83 at around 10:30 Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the accident occurred in the construction zone with one vehicle rear-ending another. At least one person was taken to Floyd-Cherokee Medical Center with minor complaints.

Initial reports indicated that there may have possibly been someone trapped inside one of the vehicles but according to Captain Andy Fairel with Floyd EMS they were able to get both occupants out of the vehicle through the passenger side of the vehicle.

The Ellisville Fire Department, Floyd EMS, Rescue Squad personnel and Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene. We will have an update as soon as the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report is available.
