49 year old Jacqueline Nipper West, and Clara Yarbrough Roden, age 47, who is the victim’s daughter –have been arrested and charged with killing Charlie Will Yarbrough, at his home in the Pine Ridge Apartment Complex.
Gadsden Police Officers were called to the complex on Wednesday of last week, where they found the victim in the bathroom of his apartment, covered in blood; blood was found not only in the bathroom, but in other areas as well.
Yarbrough appeared to have been killed by blunt force trauma to the back of the head.
Roden told officers that she hadn’t seen her father since the previous afternoon – and that at that time, he appeared to be fine; she went on to say that when she came to check on him that Wednesday, she discovered him lying on the bathroom floor – and covered him with a blanket prior to calling medics.
Autopsy results determined that the victim had received as many as ten blows to the head.
Evidence was found indicating that someone had attempted to clean up blood in the rooms and there was no sign of forced entry to the home.
No information has been released regarding a possible motive in the case.
