Rome Police have released to the media the initial incident report involving 3-year-old Ella Camp, who died Thursday at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Atlanta.

In the report officers say doctors met with them at the Floyd Medical Center ER Tuesday, telling them the child was unresponsive due to severe head trauma and was being airlifted to another hospital.

The suspect is listed as David Zachery Gresham, age 20 of Rome.

Police say Gresham was with the child at the time she was hurt.

The case is labeled as a Child Abuse investigation in the report.

Gresham was arrested Wednesday on a misdemeanor Probation Violation and is currently incarcerated at the Floyd County Jail. He has not been granted bond at this time.

Police stress they have not charged Gresham or anyone else with a crime in connection to Ella Camp’s death.

The investigation is ongoing.
