Additional information has now been released regarding that two-vehicle collision between an 18 wheeler and a pickup truck on the Chesnut Bypass Friday morning.

That accident occurred at approximately 5:50am, as the 2015 International semi, owned by Boyd Brothers International Transportation was pulling out of the Subway parking lot onto the bypass – and collided almost head on with a 2007 Ford F-150.

Both drivers – Larry Young of Lineville, Alabama in the 18 wheeler, and Gaylesville resident Stacy Dawson in the Ford, were shaken up but unhurt and neither had to be transported for treatment.

The trailer of the big rig was stretched sideways across the roadway blocking traffic in both directions as emergency personnel responded to the scene and crews worked to clear away debris from the wreck. 

The wreck remains under investigation by the Centre Police Department.
