Additional information regarding the discovery of a body in Cloudland on Sunday, has now been released.

At around 4:00 that afternoon, Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader received a call that a van had been found partially submerged in a swimming pool at a location off Brow Road – and it appeared that the vehicle had been in the water for some time.

The body of the man pulled from the vehicle has been identified as being that of 73 year old Dade County resident Freddie Wooten.

Schrader said Wooten was apparently disoriented and lost and failed to make the curve on Brow Road – driving his vehicle head-on into the swimming pool.

The residence was a guest house owned by Summerville attorney Bobby Lee Cook. No one had been at the home since Thursday of last week.

Wooten had been missing since Friday night.
