We had reports of an accident involving an 18 wheeler and a passenger car occurring on the Chestnut Bypass near Sand Valley Road just before 3:30 on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Centre Police Department accident report, the mishap involved a 2006 Honda driven by 82 year old Garvin Gorham of Summerville, Georgia and a 2015 Volvo driven by 31 year old Alan Huff of Jacksonville.
Gorham was taken to Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome by Floyd EMS for treatment of unspecified injuries; Huff was not injured according to the report.
