stock-footage-news-update-broadcast-graphics-titleLeesburg resident Shawna Lecroy stopped by the WEIS Radio Newsroom on Friday afternoon to share her side of what happened after she was arrested at Centre Middle School on Thursday when school officials said she entered the facility “without proper authorization”.

Mrs. Lecroy told us her side of what happened prior to her being taken away by Centre Police in handcuffs –

Lecroy said maybe she did go about handling things the wrong way but that she felt like she did what any other parent would have done in defending her daughter. Lecroy says that she had been to the school several weeks prior to the most recent encounter and that the school has not contacted her a single time about the issue, she told us that her daughter says this has been ongoing for almost three months.

In the end, Lecroy says that the entire situation could have been avoided with a little communication from the school –

Mrs. Lecroy issued an apology to all the parents and says that it was never her intentions to harm any student in any way she simply felt that she had to confront the teacher that she says “bullied” her child.

Lecroy told us that she is having to pay the consequences for her actions, she is no longer allowed to be present on any school campus in Cherokee County, which means for her she will not be allowed to her sons graduation ceremony –

Lecroy told us what she has done is withdrawn her daughter from Centre Middle School and will home school for the remainder of the year, she also said she has reached out to an attorney for legal advice.
