Vehicle Catches Fire After Being Involved In Two Car Crash Near Garrett Tire In Leesburg

One vehicle caught fire after being involved in a two vehicle crash on Weiss Lake Boulevard near Garrett Tire, Sunday afternoon.  According to an eyewitness, he and another man were first on the scene, and they rushed to help remove the driver from the car, as it was already on fire.

They told WEIS Radio News the driver, a young male, was badly banged up and appeared to be unable to walk.  He was the only occupant of the car.

Other passersby brought blankets for the man to lay on until the ambulance arrived.

There were reportedly four occupants in the other vehicle – made up of two adults and two children, all of whom were shaken up, with some possibly suffering very minor injuries.

The eyewitness it was good to see so many people come together to help those in their time of need.

The Leesburg Police and Fire Department, Cherokee EMS and the Cherokee County Rescue Squad all responded to the scene.
