Annual VEX Robotics Competition Slated for Saturday, January 30th in Centre

VEXX 43RD ANNUAL VEX ROBOTICS COMPETITION AND CAREER TECH EXPO COMING TO GADSDEN STATE ARENA JANUARY 30

The Cherokee County Career & Technology School is proud to host the 3rd annual VEX Robotics Tournament at Gadsden State Community College Cherokee Arena on January 30, 2016.

The event, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, will consist of over 47 teams of students who are tasked with designing and building a robot to play against other teams from around the region in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test on the playing field as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. Local champions go on to compete against the best in the world at VEX Worlds each April!

In addition to the competition, this years’ event will feature a Career Tech Expo including a Virtual Lincoln Welder, Virtual Paint Booth, Virtual Excavator,Laser Etcher, Cosmetology Nail Care, Business Department Keyboard Challenge and the Robot Technology Park will have their 53′ Robot Trailer.
