Vice-President Mike Pence to Visit Rome Today (Friday, August 2nd)

Hometown Headlines in Rome says the Vice-President of the United States will be making a stop in Floyd County this afternoon (Friday, August 2nd).

The on-line news service reports Vice-President Mike Pence will be in Georgia for a speech before The Resurgent Gathering at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead at 11:20am, and according to the Vice-President’s official schedule – he will then – “…depart Rome, Georgia en route to Washington D.C. on Air Force Two” at 3:35pm.

The purpose of the Vice-President’s visit to Rome has not been made public at this time. 

Travel logs indicate the Vice President will depart from Richard B. Russell Regional Airport.

Hometown Headlines added – “We know appropriate security precautions have been taken in Northwest Georgia as Secret Service agents have been on the ground in the past 24 to 36 hours, and we do know more than a few leaders in Rome and at the airport, were caught off guard by security and scheduling this week.”
