[VIDEO] Firefighters Respond To Apartment Fire In Cedar Bluff

The Cedar Bluff, Gaylesville and Centre Fire Departments were all dispatched to an apartment fire on Cornwall Avenue in Cedar Bluff just before 3:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The nearby Floyd EMS unit arrived on the scene just prior to fire units and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the structure. Medics were able to assist the occupants of the home in safely getting out.

Fire crews remained on scene for an extended period of time extinguishing the fire – the apartment unit suffered extensive damage. While the exact cause of the fire is not known at this time, the initial 911 call stated that it began as a grease fire.

The American Red Cross was also called to the scene to assist those that were displaced. Cedar Bluff Police also responded to the scene to provide assistance.
