One of WEIS Radio’s own has received one of the most prestigious awards in broadcasting – News Director Marc Summers received the Alabama Broadcasters Associations News Reporter of the Year Award on Saturday.

The announcement came during the eighth Annual ABBY Awards Dinner and Ceremony held at Cahaba Grand Conference Center in Birmingham.

Summers was nominated for the Award by General Manager Jerry Baker – his hard work and dedication to serving the residents of northeast Alabama and northwest Georgia merits the recognition.

The Alabama Broadcasters Association has served as the official voice of the broadcasting industry in Alabama for more than 65 years. The organization is dedicated to protecting and enhancing broadcasting and promoting the professional status of members. The Association also provides programs and services beneficial to the individual broadcaster and to members as a group.
