Wife of deposed Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein is leaving him

“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions,” Chapman said in a statement to People. “I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”

The 65-year-old Weinstein and 41-year-old Chapman were married in 2007 and have two children.

Last week, The New York Times published an expose describing years of alleged sexual misconduct by Weinstein, which led to his dismissal from The Weinstein Company. On Tuesday, a new piece in The New Yorker included even more shocking allegations, including the news that the NYPD once investigated him for sexual abuse. In addition, high profile actresses including Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow came forward this week to allege that they had suffered some of the same unwanted advances from Weinstein that others have described.

After publication of The New Yorker story, Weinstein’s lawyer denied the Weinstein assaulted anyone and said any sexual activity was consensual.
