Woman Charged With Firing Shots Into Occupied Home

An Etowah County woman is behind bars, after being arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Sheriff Todd Entrekin says 29 year old Megan Meshelle Fulenwider of Altoona – was arrested in connection with an incident occurring Saturday, April 20th – at that time, an Altoona homeowner shot into the ground attempting to get several individuals off his property.

Afterwards, Fulenwider allegedly shot into the house, and into an unoccupied vehicle; around 30 minutes later, she returned in her vehicle and drove past the residence four times each time firing several rounds which penetrated the house and the owner’s vehicle.

According to the report, the homeowner’s 12 year old child was inside the residence at the time.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

Fulenwider was later arrested and charged with two felonies – one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling or vehicle – and one count of discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle.

She was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and later released on $10,000 bond.
