Woman Jailed on Multiple Charges Including DUI, Attempting to Elude and Resisting Arrest

A woman remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center, after being arrested on several charges Wednesday night.

At around 9:00pm Sheriff’s Office Deputies received a report of an intoxicated female in the parking lot of the Noah Baptist Church.  The woman, later identified as 44 year old Amanda Leeann Stovall, drove away prior to the arrival of Sheriff’s Office Deputies however she was soon spotted by Deputy Dalton Cosby. 

When he attempted to pull her over Stovall refused to stop, and instead continued on to her County Road 16 residence where she resisted arrest and attempted to flee on foot.

At that point, she was placed under arrest and taken to jail for Fleeing/Attempting to Elude, DUI and Resisting Arrest.  She was additionally charged with Failure to Appear on the prior charge of Reckless Driving.

She was booked in shortly before 10:00 with bond set at $1,500.
