Arab police arrested a 19-year-old woman for arson and burglary after investigators say she trashed a woman’s home and set fire to it.
Police say Hayley Grace broke into a home on Mercury Drive and broke glass, damaged TVs, and squirted BBQ sauce on the walls, among other things.
Grace also left random notes behind in the home. Police say Grace set two different fires inside the home.
Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after 9 a.m Tuesday morning after a neighbor called in saying she saw smoke coming out of the windows and glass breaking.
When the first police officer arrived, Grace was reportedly irate and suspected to be under the influence of drugs. Arab police said she broke a chair and swung a chair leg at the officer toward him off. That officer then used a stun gun on Grace to subdue her.
The homeowner has no connection to Grace.
Grace is now in the Arab City jail on $45,000. She is charged with second degree arson and third degree burglary.
