Woman Found Dead In The Parking Lot At East Gadsden’s Royal Plaza / UPDATED

Gadsden Police continue to investigate the death of a person whose body was discovered in the parking lot of a shopping center.

Etowah County Coroner Michael Head said the 33 year old Etowah County woman – whose name has not been released, was found Wednesday inside a Chevrolet Cavalier, in the Royal Plaza parking lot at the intersection of U.S. 431 and U.S. 278.

Employees at the shopping center said they saw the woman in her car that morning, as they arrived at work, but thought she was asleep.

It wasn’t until someone reported her still in the car after lunch that authorities were called.

Head said first responders made entry into the vehicle and discovered that she was already dead.  She was pronounced dead at 1:28 p.m.

Gadsden police say they do not suspect homicide.

We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
