We had reports of a stolen vehicle, taken from the Raceway convenience store on Highway 278 in Piedmont at around 6:30am Monday.
The 2011 model four door, one-ton Dodge work truck was parked at the store –when a red mustang pulled up and the passenger got out of the car – climbed behind the wheel of the truck and drove away.
The work truck belonged to Jamie Pruitt Logging, is white in color with a black steel metal utility bed and a Calhoun County tag beginning with the number “11”; that truck was last seen traveling east on 278.
Piedmont Police Chief Freddie Norton confirmed to WEIS Radio News that the vehicle has been recovered, but was not recovered by Law Enforcement. Chief Norton said the incident is still under investigation.
