Youth Leadership Cherokee is designed to prepare and build leadership resources within our entire county.  The select group of participants is comprised of young and emerging leaders of the area. They will receive an intense view of civic and governmental leadership through direct contact with a wide spectrum of institutions that keep Cherokee County solvent and moving forward. 

Youth Leadership Cherokee is an educational opportunity through participatory experiences.  It is a program of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce.   Joy Perry is the Program Director.

Youth Leadership Cherokee’s October meeting was Tourism Day.  They started by visiting Orbix Hot Glass. Students got to blow their own Christmas Ornaments and watch an amazing demonstration by Artist Cal Breed and his staff. They then traveled to the JSU Little River Canyon Center where they were met by Anna Lindsey & Dr. Niki Wayner explaining everything and giving them a tour.  They watched a film about the  Little River Canyon National Preserve and had lunch in the beautiful Canyon Center.   Lunch was catered by Artic Snow, Leesburg, AL  They ended their day with a hike down to the beautiful Little River Canyon Falls.
