Two Cedar Bluff Firefighters Awarded The Lifesaver Award

Two Cedar Bluff Firefighters were presented with the Lifesaver Award during the regular meeting of the Cedar Bluff Town Council on Monday night.

Cedar Bluff Fire Chief Jason Stewart said that Assistant Chief Matthew Sprayberry and Captain Geno Smith were instrumental in saving an elderly female with dementia from Weiss Lake back on September 22 of 2017.

Stewart said that Smith and Sprayberry put their own safety at risk and as a direct result of their actions was able to rescue the female without any serious injuries.

In other business the council received monthly reports from Police Chief Steve Walden and from Fire Chief Jason Stewart.
